December 1, 2014 (New Hampshire, Massachusetts, New York)

These past 2 weeks have been fun besides having Lyme disease.  Last week I found out that I had Lyme disease! After coming home from Dubai my knee started swelling. We weren't sure what it was so we went to the Drs and got a blood test. After a couple days they said that I had Lyme disease. I got it from a tic in NH this past summer. I am now on antibiotics and will be for the next few weeks. On Saturday my knee started to go down, it was getting better and not as tight. I am so grateful that we found out that I had Lyme before it was too late and it couldn't be treated as well.

Our first part of our back east tour was New Hampshire. In NH we met up with our cousins and had Thanksgiving together. In NH we played ping pong, rode the RZR's in the meadow, and had Thanksgiving dinner. While we were in NH it snowed at least a foot and a half. I have never been to NH while it has snowed.

A couple days after we drove to Massachusetts. In MA we went to Plymouth, the Mayflower 2, Aunt Julie's birthday party, and stayed at Aunt Julie's, and Aunt MA's house. In Plymouth we first went to Plimouth Plantation where there was a reenactment and reconstruction of how the Wampanoag Native Americans and the Pilgrims from England lived. The English pilgrims first came to Massachusetts and established the first of the Northern colonies in 1620.

We observed Plymouth Rock which marks where the Mayflower landed.  The Mayflower was the name of the ship that sailed from Plymouth, England to what became known as Plymouth, Massachusetts. Now in the harbor there is the Mayflower 2, which was made to be exactly like the first Mayflower. They sailed it in the 1950s from Plymouth to England. All 102 passengers on the Mayflower survived the voyage but then more than 50 people died once they arrived due to scurvy and other sicknesses. The first governor died and the second governor was William Bradford , who I am related to.

After lunch we went to the graveyard, Burial Hill, where William Bradford was buried and walked down the hill through where the original village had been built by the Pilgrims in 1621 to the water where the Mayflower 2 was docked. There were other monuments too that we saw that remembered Pilgrim women and men and one of the Indians that was famous for helping the new Americans.

A few days after we took a train to New York. In NYC we went to the MoMA. The MoMA is the Museum of Modern Art. At the Museum they had famous artist like Henri Matisse and  Pablo Picasso. At night we went to the Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall. It is my mom's favorite show. It was fun to see in NYC at Christmas with all the lights and decorations.
