April 15, 2014: Day 3 Japan

Today we woke up early at 6:30 a.m. and took the subway over to  the fish market with my Uncle Al. It was crazy all that was happening there. All these carts were going everywhere and big fish, maybe tuna were being chopped by a big saw. At the fish market I saw squid, sardines, and other gross stuff. After the fish market we walked around to find a breakfast place. In Japan, they have the same menu for every single meal for breakfast, lunch, dinner. I had a bowl of noodles with shrimp tempura on top for breakfast. After we walked to a park, but it was closed so we took a taxi back to our hotel.

We left our hotel at 9:30 in the morning and went to the train station. We found our gate to the Bullet Train and took the Bullet Train to Kyoto. When we were on the train, it was cool. We had big captain chairs and it was very quiet. The fastest the train went that we saw was 165 mph. On the way we also saw Mt. Fuji. Mt Fuji was very big. It even had a glacier on top.

When we got off the train, we arrived in Kyoto! We took a subway train near our hotel and walked to the Ritz Carlton where we were staying. When we walked into the Ritz Carlton. It was the coolest franchise hotel that I have ever been in. It was so modern and Asian style. All of the woodwork and design made it cool. Our room was so cool. It had it had all these cool features that not an ordinary hotel would have. Like flat screen tvs, sliding door panels, all wood features, ....After we got into our room, we changed and started riding electric assist bikes around town. Me and my mom went to the Imperial Palace grounds while my dad got his haircut at a barbershop. The temple was cool but it was awesome seeing my dad's haircut. There was some miscommunication. My dad said #2 but the barber might have thought two millimeters! After that we tried to find the "Big Buddha". We didn't find it so my dad and I headed back. But my mom hunted for it and found it.

It was a boys night. My Uncle Al came down to Kyoto for the night and day. We hung out for a little and watched the Italian Job. I fell asleep for most of the movie and so I crawled into bed at 7:30! I couldn't believe it. I slept until 6:30 a.m.!
