Next we drove to Matamata. The drive to Matamata was spectacular! It was green with rolling hills and farms with sheep and cattle. As soon as we got to Matamata from a 45 minute drive we went straight into the Hobbiton ticket office. Hobbiton is the small village where the Lord of the rings and the Hobbit was filmed and took place. When we arrived at Hobbiton we had a guided of the whole village. Hobbiton had the most beautiful landscape with a big lake at at the bottom, a hill which had all the Hobbit holes built into, a well maintained green environment, and a big tree. The last time they filmed at Hobbiton was in 2011 when they filmed the Hobbit.
After, we started to drive back to Pronsonby, but first we wanted to stop by Pokeno to get some ice cream. After leaving the small town of Pokeno we drove back and went home.
