January 17, 2015 (Auckland to Queenstown, New Zealand)

This morning I was able to sleep in before we took a flight to Queenstown NZ, but first we did some other things. We first had to say goodbye to our host Gill. Then we drove away from our sweet smelling little house to my favorite restaurant in the center of Auckland, Best Ugly Bagels. At Best Ugly Bagels they twirl the dough then they put the bagels into a brick oven and at last, finishing by tossing on the toppings. The last place we went to was the Auckland city park and Auckland museum. At the Auckland museum they had an art exhibit that were all articles of clothing. The Exhibit was impressive, with outfits made out of metal and leather.

When we got to the airport we checked in and took a short flight over to Queenstown, which is in the south island. As soon as we arrived in Queenstown after a beautiful landing of the huge mountain range named the Remarkables we had a man from the hotel come pick us up from the airport. Our driver also gave us a tour of Queenstown and of the big mountains and big lake which is the only lake in the world with a tide. Queenstown is the adventure capitol of New Zealand with bungy jumping to skydiving all weeklong. Queenstown reminded me of Aspen colorado because of the way the city is formed and of the big mountains.

When we got to the hotel we talked to the concierge then went to the room, ordered room service, and had school.

Later we took the hotel shuttle down to town where we explored. One of the places we stopped at was the IceBar, which is a small bar made out of ice. When we were in the ice bar I could feel that crisp feeling on my face. Our last stop we made was at an ice cream shop named Patagonia’s. The ice cream is truly rich and delicious.

When we got back to the hotel we chilled and went to bed.
