We were today leaving Thailand but only for a couple weeks before flying to southern Thailand. We were traveling towards Yangon, Myanmar (Burma). We took one short flight over to Yangon, it was just under one hour. Arrived in Myanmar we were met by our guide, Htet Htet and taken to our hotel by the driver and her. Shortly after arriving arriving at our hotel we met Dad in the lobby! I talked to him for a little while before he walked to the pool and we ate lunch. After, all of us met back up with Htet and drove to a Reclining Buddha. There are two types of Reclining Buddha’s the first one is the relaxed Buddha and the second one was the dyeing Buddha. Both of the Buddha’s are lying down. The Reclining Buddha we saw was the third largest Reclining Buddha in the world!
Next, we drove to the Shewdagong Stupa. The Shewdagong Stupa is the most magnificent Stupa in Yangon and the second largest in Myanmar. It is the tallest stupa I have ever seen! There are seven corners of the stupa and each corner or side represented a day of the week. If a person is born on Monday they're animal is the tiger and they have to do some of there religious activities on the Monday side/corner. I was born on Thursday and my animal in the mouse. And also they have the first escalator in Myanmar! The umbrella around the top of the stupa has HEAPS of jewelry, a bug diamond onto of the unbrella and even has the 5 hairs of Buddha.
