We had another EARLY wake up at 5:00 a.m. We were hot air ballooning over the temples of Bagan! Our transportation was an old car bus that was restored from World War II. At the launch spot the ballon company, Balloons Over Bagan welcomed us and then we walked in the darkness to the tea and coffee area. To get the ballon ready our captain and his crew filled the ballon up with cold air by using a gasoline powered fan. Then when it was practically filled up with air they turned on the flames and when that happens the heat rises and creates the Hot air ballon to float. From up above we saw everything; the big gold stupa, the haunted temple, and more.
We got back to the hotel at around 9:00 and ate breakfast before driving and looking at a traditional Bagan village. One of the homes we visited had two older ladies an older man, two kids working on there hand writing, a man, and a women making food with her baby! The oldest lady there was 82 and was crouching on a table cracking peanuts with a hammer. The oldest man just had eye surgery so he was just hanging out in his sunglasses.
Next we drove to the Lacquer wood shop where we saw them make there items. Lacquer wood items take a long time to produce, some even take a year! Lacquer wood has a bamboo base with many layers of black lacquer. When all of the layers are finished the works men carve drawings into the Lacquer and then color the incisions then polish all of it.
Next we drove to a temple near where dad got his hair cut. This temple was white and had four Buddha's in total including a reclining Buddha.
We ate at the Green Elephant same as last night but this time at another Green Elephant location. As soon as we were finished with lunch on the water we drove back to the hotel. We chilled and passed the Ratan ball in the the pool before dunking into the pool I found a bug that kind of looked like a stick bug put swam. One time I even saw him almost touch the bottom of the pool!
After being by the pool we took some more electric mopeds out. These Mopeds actually looked more like a normal gas scooter. On our ride we stopped by a few Lacquer Wood shops. One of the shops we rode to had tons of Lacquer wood. I like riding motorbikes!
Back with Tata Mom Dad and I drove to the tallest temple! The tallest temple was pretty tall and wide from other small temples but it didn't have Buddhas like the one we saw the day before. After we took a horse carridge ride where I was able to drive and see some of the sights.
Sunset was on another temple with quite a few other people. While the sun dropped there were two drones also flying in the sky.
