September 16, 2014 (Cape Town, South Africa)

Today was an awesome day in Cape Town, South Africa. We slept in since we had a long day yesterday. We had loads of fun! Right after we ate breakfast at the hotel we took a tour bus to the bottom of Table Mountain, where we road a gondola all the way to top where we could look out over Cape Town. The mountains on either side of Table Mountain were called Devil’s Peak and Lion’s Head.

In the afternoon we took a taxi to World Of Birds. World of Birds was amazing! There are 400 different types of birds and animals. Many of them were exotic.  But my favorite bird was the King Vulture because of the colorful curd on his beak, and his big bright eyes. This was unlike a regular zoo in the US because for example you could walk “the owl loop” with nothing to protect you, no glass or netting, and be surrounded by Bengal Eagle Owls, Great Horned Owls, Barn Owls,… It was crazy!
