Grootbos was great! Today we drove to Grootbos Nature Reserve. We started driving to it at around 9:30, I heard it was a spectacular drive, but I was asleep. As soon as we got to Grootbos we checked in and organized our plans. At Grootbos they have the biggest reserve of Fynbos. There is 9,000 different types of Fynbos.
After we ate lunch at the hotel we went town to the township, and went to a local school where the kids were playing outside. I decided to play with them. the game we played was a mix between baseball and cricket. I was getting nervous as it was getting close to my turn. When it was my turn I missed the ball not once, twice, but three times. But in this game if you missed the ball on the third time you could still run, so I did. I ran all the way to home base and our team won the game.
Next we went whale watching from the shore the whales were HUGE! We saw the Right whale. the reason it is called the Right whale is because when sailors killed whales they said that that particular whale was the "right one to kill", because it was slow, big, and floated when killed.
The caves in Gansbaii, the town below Grotboos, are amazing! The tour group and I went down to the beach into these AWESOME caves where ancient tribes lived. When we were in the caves our guide taught us about the caves. In them there is a spectacular view of the coast and the mountains.
