Grootbos day two! Today we were able to sleep in! It was the first time I was able to sleep in this whole entire time. We ate breakfast in our hotel room, then my mom and I went on a little hike around by the lodge, we hiked around 3 km. During the hike we saw a Bushbok, a Bushbok is part of the Antelope family. We also identified the Fynbos that was all around us into the four main plant forms: Protea, Erica, Cape Reeds and Bulbous Plants.
After our hike and lunch, we went on a whale watching boat ride, It was awesome! We saw tons of whales, penguins, seals, and even a great white shark. We were able to see the Right whale, an Albino Right whale, a baby Right whale, and a Right whale breeching. The white bumpy stuff on their nose are named callosites We were also able to observe seals, and penguins. We went to an island where there were just seals. There were so many of them! The Whale watch was definently worth the bumpy ride. It was a good day.
