Day 2 in Cairo was great! It was the first full day I spent with my family. Today we were touring around Cairo. We first went to a Muslim mosque. It was very big! When we first got there a man sitting on the floor put one piece of cloth on each shoe then tied it. He did that to keep the mosque clean and not to have any dirt. The mosque was a big open area with a small tower right in the middle, with tall towers outside of it. The mosque we went to is the second oldest in Cairo. We later went into one of the tall minarets, which is where the Aman would call everyone to prayers, which was still part of the mosque. It was scary at the very top. You were either standing on non sturdy planks or a couple feet from the edge with no guard-rail! Later we went to another church. We went to a traditional Christian church. We were able to see most of the church. This church they believe that Mary and Joseph came to drink from a well there with their baby Jesus when they were hiding from Herod's decree in Bethlehem that all baby boys should be killed. Later we then picked up Kendall to go to lunch.
