Today was our last day teaching at Step Up Nursery School. We taught about the fruits, and the months. We first went over the months, sang the song, went over the fruits, taught them the fruit song our group had made up, then had them color fruits on a coloring sheet we gave them. We started with the little kids again so we would have energy when we were finished with them. It went well except for 2 of the little kids that were being rude. At the end I was able to play with the kids, lift them up and later say goodbye.
After lunch we had a reflection meeting on our stay at CCS. We also talked about if we wanted to sponsor any kids at one of the schools. We are choosing to pay the small price to sponsor some kids through high school. We are supposed to write the kids three times each year.
After our meeting we went to the school were we would meet the kids. We met all the kids but 2. I am writing to a 12 year old named Prosper. After we then visited 4 of the children’s homes. I thought Prosper’s was in the worst situation. Both of his parents died, he lives with his aunt, has an alcoholic uncle, lives with 11 others, and has a very small house. One of the girls' houses we went to the great aunt that she lives with as a token of gratitude ran back into her garden with a machete and chopped down a big piece of sugar cane taller than me and a papaya.
