November 3, 2014 (Luxor, Egypt)

Today was an early wake up. Today I woke up at 4:30 am to go on a plane to Luxor, Egypt. The flight over went well. When we arrived we drove straight to our cruise on the Nile. After we settled in, we had lunch, it was great! My favorite part was the shell pasta! Later we went on a tour around Luxor. First we went to Karnak Temple that took 1300 years to build! At the temple we saw huge statues, huge pillars, and walls with hieroglyphics written all over them. I liked seeing the big statue of King Ramses. It was built around 1500 B.C. You could still see some of the original colors.

The other temple was very cool too. This Luxor temple had a mosque built in it a few hundred years ago. It had also had a Christian church built on top of it too. It was very good looking. This one had more covered sections and was sore modern, but not by much. One of the sculptures had a head of a Pharoah which was totally in detail. We then got back and got ready for dinner.

Dinner was good, but first we had entertainment. We had a Belly Dancing show and a Twirling Dervish show. The man doing the Dervish show wore a thing that looked like a dress he spun and spun and spun for at least 10 minutes at a time! For dinner I had onion soup and sea bass. Later back at the room we played a game of cards then went to bed.
