We had a another early wake up 6:00, or at least it felt like it. Today we did many things on our tour. We first went to Hetsheput. It is so amazing. My favorite thing about it was walking up to it, or just seeing the entire building. The building looked like it would be in a movie. The front of it had big statues of King Ramses! Next we went to the “Valley Of The Kings”. Valley Of The Kings is a place where lots of the Pharaohs tombs are buried. It was so amazing to see some of their tombs. One of the tombs went underground for at least 450 feet! In the tomb there would be pictographs telling stories about their lives.
In King Tutankhamun's (King Tut’s) tomb they had the mummified body, a gold coffin, and his stone sarcophagus on display in the tomb! The golden coffin was a piece of art, it was beautiful. We then went to a place were they made vases, glasses and sculptures. I got a brown Alabaster bowl. When we were there we were able to also see them make the sculptures.
Valley Of The Queens was very interesting as well. When we were there we only visited 2 tombs but it was still very interesting. One of the tombs had a mirror shining in the sun pointing right into the tomb. Then one of the men inside the tomb had a shiny piece of paper and when he stood in the beam of light he had a spot light. They used that mechanism to light up the cave to paint.
When we were done touring we went back to the boat and had lunch. It was so very good. I had pizza. Later I did my blog with Kendall then went up to the pool. At the pool we played cards and bought a table cloth from a man in a canoe that tied himself onto our boat! It was hilarious! we then got ready for dinner.
