That morning we left the hotel and Weltvogel Park at around 9:15. We had a long drive to Stuttgart! On the way we stopped by the LDS Temple outside Frankfurt and served there with other teens from the area and outside Frankfurt. Another man we met was from SLC, UT. This time we didn’t do temple work for our family, but for the names of other's ancestors. The temple was beautiful it had multiple parts to it and had pretty greenery.
After the temple we kept on driving towards Bamberg. During the drive to Bamberg there was awesome scenery, which was a little like to France with its rolling hills. When we arrived in Bamberg we checked into the Welcome Hotel. The two girls at the front desk were both grumpy especially one in particular, it wasn't a good impression for the Welcome Hotel. Once we were checked in, our bags in the room, and the wifi working we walked about town.
The town was beautiful! Near our hotel was a big church which my Great Great Great Grandpa Schmitt did the stained glass. The main reson we came to Bamberg was to do family history. My Great Great Great Grandpa Schmitt moved to Ohio from Germany with his wife and 15 children then later boated back to Germany to live and work leaving his family behind in Ohio.
The part we were walking around in was nicknamed Little Venice. Before we heard that I asked Mom if this was what Venice looked like. We ate dinner and I had gelato in Little Venice. We watched the sunset on one of the bridges looking at the historic city's picturesque scenery.
We returned to the hotel and worked on our blogs and read our scriptures. It was a hot night, with no AC.
