I got up quickly from Mom rushing me to go go go to the dock where there were tens of tens of stingrays all on top of each other! When we arrived at the dock we looked in the water there were still some stingrays stealthy resting on the bottom of the ocean but not as many as before. Right after looking at them from up top on the dock we put our snorkel gear on and swam with them. I only went for a little because I was scared, partly because of there big barb on their tail that could be shot if wanted to. After our snorkel we had breakfast then went scuba diving for the second time at the Great Barrier Reef. Todays Scuba was also my favorite scuba that we did on Heron Island. On our dive we saw loads of coral, and there was no current and my googles weren't fogged which was great. :) Also during that dive we saw a Wobbogong shark which was really camo in the rocks. Some of the coral we saw was branched out like a bonzi tree and one of the coral we saw was very soft and very beautiful. As soon as we finished our first dive we had to wait a little on the dock but then we dove our second dive. Our second dive wasn't as good, but I did see a White Tip shark and another Wobbogong shark. This time The Wobbogong shark was REALLY camo, it took me a little to find him. When we finished lunch we did a little reef walk while it was low tide. On our reef walk we saw tons of sea cucumbers, clams, and coral. We were sitting in the water when all of a sudden white foam and stuff was coming into Heron Island. It was the tide was coming in, and because of all of the weird stuff coming in we headed in.
After a dip in the pool and a shower by the room I walked to the bird tour. On the bird tour I learned about the different birds on Heron Island like the Silver gull and the Black Noddy. Both the Silver Gull and the Noddy are permanent residents of Heron Island. But unlike the Silver Gull only half of the Noddy population on Heron Island is a permanent resident.
Later we took a break at the room and did some homework. And when we were finished with that we walked along the beach for a little while. Just before the beach walk we walked onto the dock and the marine biologist were tagging and doing tests on turtles. It was also really cool to see them be released and jet off into the ocean blue. Towards the end of our walk Mom called out Hatchlings! Once I saw one baby Green turtle they just kept coming! Then there were around a dozen little hatchlings making there way to the water. But later when they made it to the water unfortunately a Black Tip shark came and ate some of them.
Finished with all of that we went to the bar, ate some pizza, did our blogs, and went to bed.
