As soon as I woke up this morning I had no time to get ready for the big travel day ahead of us. We rushed out the door but we had to stop many times in the elevator because we were at the top floor. Finally at the airport I had some time to get breakfast and to work on my blog. Once we took off we started flying to Brisbane, Australia. When we arrived in Brisbane we had another break and then had a connecting flight to Gladstone, Australia. After both of those flights we had another connecting flight to Heron island! We were flying in a seaplane which is a plane that can land on water. When we were taking off the two pilots told us that it is one of the pilots second time ever doing a water landing! When we were flying over Heron island I could see big rays and turtles with bright blue water surrounding the tiny island which is only 800 meters long. Landed we had to walk through some water to get to the beach. At the beach we were welcomed, received a tour of the resort, signed up for scuba diving and was shown to our room. Apparently on Heron island there are thousands of noise, obnoxious birds that very in breed. Later that day we switched rooms to one that had a porch and an A/C. Also later that night we were walking along and came across a huge female turtle! The turtle was slowly making its way up the beech to lay her little eggs in a pit she would dig. After a big day of traveling we settled, killed some bugs in our islander hotel room and went to bed.
You can barely see her, but there is a big Green Turtle there on the beach that we spotted at night
