February 3, 2015 (Brisbane, Australia)

We had one full day in Brisbane. We started off getting breakfast in the lounge which had the coolest pancake maker because all you would do is press a button and a minute or so later a pancake would slowly flop out of the machine. Next, we walked over to the ferry and we took it over to the other side of the river that runs through the city. Arrived, we strolled around the shopping center, and came across a chocolate shop which we ate at later and a touring store that gave us advice for activities in Brisbane. When we finished walking in the shopping area we walked over to a “IMAX” that was not even showing IMAX movies! But on the way over to the theater we came across conveyer belt sushi. So we decided we had to better come back. In that area there is also a ferris wheel that we rode on. This ferris wheel was just like the one in Cape Town, South Africa. I love ferris wheels because they are nice and relaxing and yet you still get to have a good view. As soon as we finished the wheel we went over and rented City Bikes from a machine. These bikes are throughout the city. On our bikes we rode over to a Nepalese pagoda, which is an Asian temple. The temple is beautiful with a pleasant Asian design. After going to the temple we stopped by an herb garden where we tasted some of the herbs. My favorite herb was Stevia because it was like sugar!

Back by the IMAX theater we parked our bikes at the conveyer belt sushi restaurant named Ginga. It was just all right sushi but it was a great experience. Next we rode our bikes to a chocolate shop. I only got a chocolate milkshake but I did have some of Mom's chocolate fondu.

Finished with chocolate we kept biking around and decided to bike to a water park that was a shortish bike ride away. At the waterpark we realized that it wasn't a waterpark it was an activity center where you could ride Segways or you could simply just go kayaking. We signed up for the Segway obstacle course. We had a bit of wait before the tour so we took the opportunity to relax by the river. When it was time we got to ride off road Segways through the obstacle course. On the course there were speed bumps that I could catch air on and cones that we could swerve around. It was hilarious! We then decided to get a taste of the tour. I started off on the off road Segway then later moved up to a faster more skittish Segway named a Ninebot. Shortly after switching onto the Ninebot I was trying to go faster and the Ninebot tipped over onto its side! Fallen I was unaware that my knee was bleeding. I got back up on the Segway and finished the tour, just a little rattled.

After biking to the ferry and taking it to the other side we walked over to the hotel. Cleaned up we walked a little then took a taxi to the LDS temple. At the temple we were able to do baptisms and confirmations for ancestors. The temple was a small temple that had a golden Angel Moroni on top like most LDS temples.

We just had to walk right next door to our Thai dinner. It was a nice thai dinner, I had phad thai. Finished with a pleasant meal we took a taxi back and fell asleep.
