February 12, 2015 (Singapore)

It was a very packed day! It started off with getting some breakfast in the lounge with a fantastic flavor filled sugar donut. We then walked down to the lobby and caught a taxi to Gardens by the Bay. Gardens by the Bay is a huge planetarium walk with plants all over the world. We first walked through the indoor planetarium  which evan had plants from South Africa and Australia. And they even had hybrid flowers which they grew themselves. Moving on we walked over to another indoor planetarium named the Cloud Forest. The cloud forest was different by having more of a green environment, one building not scattered, water feature, and the plants more bunched up. The one that I liked the most was the cloud forest because there is a floating walkway that is raised near the plant building. We now had to visit the outside flowers walk with huge man made sky trees with plants attached to them! We were also able to walk on a path that was from one tree to the other seeing the huge planetarium.

Next we strolled over to the Marina Bay Sands, which is the most famous hotel in Singapore with three tall hotel buildings stacked next to each other with a huge ship looking building placed on top with restaurants which of one we ate at, an infinity pool, and greenery! We met Eunice our Singaporean friend at the restaurant named Sky on 57. Before we ate lunch we walked down to the shopping center and took a hilarious venice style boat ride down the river in the indoor shopping center.

After lunch we took a taxi to a huge Ferris Wheel, the largest in Asia. It was the biggest ferris wheel I have ever been. The other two I have been on were Brisbane and Cape Town. Part of the reason I like the Ferris Wheel is because of the big open spaced carriage where you could not just sit but could walk around the glass enclosure. It was a 30 minute ride for one lap around.

Following the Singapore Flyer we took another taxi over to the Jerong Bird Park. What I liked about the Bird Park was Lorie Loft. It was filled with Lorakeets and Lories which would fly onto you and look through your hair, try and grab your glasses, and were social and sometimes naughty. I really love birds and I would like to have one as a pet. Especially the Ecelectus. I didn't like as much as the Bali Bird Park but I am glad we visited.

When we were waiting for a taxi there was a huge line! I all of a sudden said, what about Uber? 10 minutes later a car showed up and 40 minutes later we arrived at the Night Safari. The Night Safari was run by the same company as the Bird Park. It was basically a zoo at night. At the beginning we first walked around the trails seeing Wallabies, Bats, Leopards, and other animals such as the Giant Indian Flying Squirrel, it was HUGE and it didn't even look like a squirrel. But at the very beginning we saw a show with several night creatures. One of my favorite parts was seeing  a bear/sloth thing on a man's shoulder. Next we took a Tram all the way around the loop. On the tram we saw animals we couldn't walk to. We saw animals such as the Indian Elephant, a cool ant-eater looking animal and lots more. The Night Zoo was cool but I did like the Jerong Bird Park more. I like interacting with the birds and playing with them. But the Night Safari did have Leopards, Hyenas and an Indian Rhino!

We took another Uber driver from the Night Zoo to the Singapore Marriott. Along the way we stopped by China Town with our nice driver and popped the sunroof and stood up through it like it was Friday night! China Town had lanterns all above the streets, hundreds of them, and goats representing the Chinese Zodiac Calendar's Year of the Goat.

Back at the hotel around 11 we ordered room service and did our blogs while we waited for room service. It was a HUGE DAY but a fun one.
