We had a relaxed morning today but an adventures day in the Seyschelles. It is so beautiful. We then did relax for a while until 11:30. then we decided to get a rental car and tour around the island. When we were there we saw they had Mini Moke’s (little Japanese buggy), so we rented one. It was a manual transmission. It was kind of a bad car but it was fun and funny. After Mom got the hang of the manual and driving on the left side of the road we went to go look for a new hotel we found many places: Raffles; option, The Reserve; booked, Le Chateau de Feuilles; no beach, Lameurie; option. Raffles was very nice and has a great view, modern, friendly, but not close to the lodge. Lemuria was close to everything, more activity, good beach, but not as friendly, not as cheap, and not as good of rooms. We found some local stores on the way ad bought some snorkel and beach gear to play with.
When we were exploring we had to go up some steep hills. I was surprised that the Moke made it up some of the steep hills. We were coming up one of the steepest corners of the island and a school bus came around the corner so then we stopped and tried to continue but our wheels started spinning! Then we stopped again and made our way up the mountain. Later when we were back at the hotel we tried getting a dinner reservation to Le Chateau de Feuilles but they were booked, so we went to Raffles. We had an Asian style dinner. It was very good besides there was a huge spider under my Mom’s chair, it was discusting! After dinner they gave us a tour of a normal villa. It was amazing! There is a great view, small pool on deck, and great rooms. shortly after, we drove our Moke back to the hotel then went to bed.
