It was another early start to the day. It was a packed day, but it was so fun! Right when we woke up we took a bus to where we would ride elephants! When we got there our guide told us about what to expect and what we would be doing. Shortly after we hopped on our elephant and went for a ride. Our elephant’s name was Tuska. He was one of the biggest elephants that they have tamed. It takes a year and a half to tame an African Elephant. On our ride we saw Giraffe, Kudu, Gazelle, Wart Hog, and Giant Owls. After our ride we were able to feed our elephant. I sat on his leg while he was lying down and our trainer gave me elephant “candy” to feed to Tuska. It was so funny. While I was sitting on his leg he would stick his trunk right by my face, I would drop pellets into his trunk and then Tuska blew them out of trunk into his mouth. His trunk and skin was very rough and hard. His trunk was very strong also. After elephant ride and feeding we had breakfast out in the bush. It was delicious. We had fantastic eggs made over the fire.
A while after our elephant ride we went to our helicopter tour of Victoria Falls. It was amazing to see Victoria Falls from an aerial view. I got to see in the co-pilot seat. It was my third time in a helicopter. As well you could see the Zambezi River and all it’s arteries.
Shortly after we went with Ndad to a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River. It was us and a small group of other people. It was fantastic! We saw crocodiles, hippos, and even elephants swimming across the river. My favorite part was seeing the elephants swimming across the river. It was shallow enough for the elephants to walk across. They would just hold their trunk above the water to breathe. Even though it was a sunset cruise the animals stole the show!
For dinner we went to Boma! It was an interactive buffet dinner where we played drums. It was very long! I tried wart hog, and Eland meat balls, and crocodile. I didn’t try the worms! When we were there we got a Mkhishi mask. like the mask we saw last night. Overall it was a fantastic but packed day!
