When I woke up in Kilimanjaro we went right to breakfast downstairs. It was delicious! My favorite part were the scones! Today my favorite parts were learning about the Tanzanian culture while we were lying on the mats on the grass. I also liked exploring with Yvette meeting families, like Lydia and her five children. The reason we went exploring and meeting families was after breakfast they gave us a task to go outside the compound, find a family, ask how many members of the family and what their activities are. There was also a lot of paper work, learned about their culture, played cards, and ate and walked to the main road where they had a hair salon, a bar and other restaurants.
During our discussions we heard where we would be teaching. We were teaching at a Step Up Nursery School. The ages of our children are 3-7. During our cultural talk we learned about dress, marriage, language, and family. Each family in Kili has around eight people, but one of the Lady's had 14 members of her family! The women sometimes use Khongas to dress themselves. During the cultural discussion a volunteer, Jenna was called up to be dressed like a Tanzanian women. They where 1 scarf on the bottom, 1 on the top, 1 to hold the baby, and 1 to hold items on their head.
Later that evening we played cards and had dinner. My favorite part of dinner was the grilled cheese sandwich. Later that night we were so tired we did our blog then went to bed.
