When we woke up at 7:30 we went straight to reception then breakfast. At breakfast I didn't see the crepe chef. But then he greeted us at our table and I ordered another crepe. After we checked out and had breakfast we headed to the airport in our little Kia Picato. But then we realized we had a flat tire. One of the hotel employees ( our fast golf cart driver) came over and fixed our flat. He changed it so fast! In a maximum of 5 min. Our spare was so small! It was almost as thin as a bike tire! Eventually we got to the airport.
From the airport we took a small plane to Mahe (the biggest island) where we would take a plane to Nairobi, Kenya. All we did in Mahe was sitting in the airport and getting lunch. Though we didn't realize our flight had been delayed, which meant we might of missed our flight to Kilimanjaro, Tanzania. We were just hoping we would make our flight. When we were on the plane we met a very interesting man, his name was Leon and was from Memphis, Tennessee. We talked to him for a while, he was a traveler too but he has been to 119 countries! One of the pictures I saw of him was him being picked up by an elephant by the elephants trunk in Thailand.
After we got off the the plane we ran all the way to the other side of the airport where our flight was. As soon as we got there we asked if we missed our flight to Kilimanjaro, but luckily a few moments later she said it was delayed. We were relieved. After a couple hours we boarded the plane and flew to Kili. As we were walking out from customs I heard someone call our names. I looked back and it was Yvette, our friend that was staying with us in Kili. It was so fun to see her. She is our first person to stay with us. When we were walking out of the airport together we had a person from Cross Cultural Solutions (humanitarian trip we are doing) come pick us up and take us to "home base". When we were home they taught us some stuff about what we are doing and about our room. After that we settled in and went to bed. It was a long day of travel.
